Angle check? Radian XT in VW Jetta

We've been having a really hard time getting our Radian XT to fit in our 2004 Jetta Wagon :( We've tried it in the middle and on the passenger side, but with a 6'1" husband it's just not working for us. If it's installed in the middle then DH can't drive and can barely squeeze into the passenger side, and if it's on the passenger side then even I can't sit in the passenger side front seat, and I'm 5'6"!
We just purchased a Diono Angle Adjuster to see if it would make any difference, and it has opened up a lot of leg room for us in the front seat, but now the carseat looks like it's WAY too upright for a 9 month old baby!

I'm not sure how to measure the angle but I'm guessing it's too inclined? It's not touching the head rest of the front seat.

I've found someone who will purchase the seat from us (it's only been used twice) so we are open to buying a new seat if we can find one that will fit better RFing and allow both DH and I to use both front seats of the car.

Maybe a Britax Marathon would fit better?

It looks fine for a nine month old. I'm assuming the baby has head control, and would pull their head back up in their sleep?

Since your car likely allows bracing against the front seats, I'd probably leave everything where it is now and crank the tether down to recline it just a hair more so that it's shoved against the front seat. That should give you a few more degrees, have it still fit, and be comfortable. The tether would also help prevent rebound into your mirror that's sticking out. If you're going to use a mirror (and I do), could you get one that doesn't stick out and isn't hard plastic? I use a Safe Fit one that's soft and attaches around the headrest, so it's not going to go anywhere, nor would it hurt my child if she slammed against it. Would you be ok with your child potentially slamming against that one? Or rather, the yardstick we use is, would you through it at their head? If yes, then it's fine. If not, then I'd remove it. I'm ok throwing mine at Laine's head. In fact, I might have at some point. :)
