Question Would you buy a new seat to keep RF past 3?

I know it's been asked before, but was just curious. My DD will be 3 on Saturday and is ERF in a MA 70. She loves RF, never knew anything different and I have been questioning when she gets a little taller should I buy a new seat to keep her RF longer. I'm liking the recent pics of the CA.

**ADDED PICS IN POST #43*** Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

I would and did. My youngest will be 3 next month and we got in an accident and I replaced her TFP with a radian to keep her rf longer(although I did end up ordering a TFP after I sold my CA65)

Maybe, maybe not. I think it would kind of depend on finances and whether there was another RF seat I really wanted. I don't think I'd stress about FF a 3 year old who had outgrown the RF limits of her seat, though.

No, I would not. If a child of mine outgrew his/her RF seat before age 3 and I could get another to keep him/her RF longer without breaking the bank, then I would. But past age 3, I'll turn FF.

No, my son is 3 and a couple months and he is FFing most of the time with the Radian RFing in our less used vehicle.

But if you really want to keep her RFing and have the funds to buy a new seat, why not??

Yes. If the funds are there.

4 is more my comfort level.

My dd was only 23lbs at 3 yrs though.

Yes, I would. In fact I just did! My DD will be 3 in April and just hit 32 lbs. My BV would only RF to 33, so I went and found a great deal on a My Ride so she can stay RF til 4.

If you have the funds, why not?!

Good info, thanks for all the prospectives. I think my biggest hesitation is that she is so happy RF. I know that no matter how old she is she is safer RF, so it will be a sad day when I have to turn her. She's a shortie so I might get her closer to 3.5.

Me personally? Yes. But I generally have the funds to purchase new seats (that was not supposed to sound as snobbish as it came out). I wouldn't tell someone else they needed to get a new seat unless they really wanted to.

I have my own little car seat fund. I buy super discount seats, sell them for less discounted prices, and thus have money. Sometimes I buy super discounted seats and don't sell them. Sometimes I sell my used seats that I decide I no longer want. In any case, I have car seat money that's all my own and doesn't need to be used for boring things, like food or gas. I would buy a car seat to rf my child to 5 years old, if there was one I could afford.

Would and did. If it were a financial hardship on a family, though, I wouldn't think twice about turning in the current seat.

I just bought a new seat to rf my dd who will turn 3 in May. The funds were there because I sold another seat and got a great deal but otherwise I don't think I would have.

No. My goal is to get him till 3 RFing. If he goes over 3 that'll be a bonus. Although at 2 he'll go FFing in the two trucks. He's rarely in my dad's truck and in our truck having 2 RFing is putting me closer to the airbag for my comfort.

I would and did as well, I actually bought three. ;) I bought a myride when Elizabeth was almost 3, then a radian that went to 40 lbs after they got certified because I didn't really like how the my ride fit in my van, then a radian that went to 45 lbs. She stayed rear-facing until 4.5.
