Question Which seats should I keep?

I am trying to cull down the number of seats I have and need to figure out which would be the best to keep. Right now, I have a FR85, a RN RXT, a TFP, a MR, and an Eliza Argos that I bought on Saturday. I for sure want to keep the Argos because I could leave that one in my vehicle and with the no-rethread harness will be much easier adjusting it between Nour and Katelyn.

I have to decide which seats to keep according to which pair of kids are riding in my car at the time. Nour and Zain are in my vehicle way more than the other two pairs of kids. Out of the six kids, five are riding FF. Normally, I'd probably still have Katelyn & Owen RF (they will be 3 in July) but their parents already flipped them because 1) Katelyn outgrew the MR RF by height and 2) it was too difficult getting them in RF anymore in their vehicle. And since K & O only ride in my vehicle when we have them for a weekend, that is only one weekend every few months. So I am thinking we might have them two more weekends before they turn 3. If I wanted to keep them RF, then I'd have to keep two convertibles.

So here is what I was thinking, according to which kids are riding:

Nour and Zain
: Zain is in the FR85 and Nour is in the Argos.

Ethan & Chase: Ethan is just slightly shorter than Zain, so I think I could leave the FR85 set where it is, and he'd be fine. Chase would need either the MR, RN, or the TFP, RF.

Katelyn & Owen: Katelyn could ride in the Argos since it is easily adjusted with the no re-thread harness. I don't want to put Owen in the FR85 because he is much smaller than Ethan and Zain, so I'd have to uninstall the beast, adjust the harness, then re-install. I would rather just un-install it, leaving it adjusted for Zain and Ethan, and instead put another seat there. That would leave either the MR, TFP, or the RN RXT, FF. If I kept the RN as the convertible, then that would also mean having to remove the RF boot, re-adjusting the harness, and taking the Safestop off if I had to adjust it between when Owen rides in it and when Chase rides in it.

If you were able to follow all of that and understand what I am trying to do, which seats would you keep?

FR 85 - Zain and Ethan
Argos - Nour and Katelyn
TFP - Chase and Owen

You seem pretty set on the Argos and FR85 for those four kids. The TFP would be the easiest to adjust between C and O.

I think I would keep the FR85, the Argos and the TFP.

When you have Nour and Zain you would have the FR85 and the Argos. With Kaitlyn and Own you could use the Argos and the TFP. Then with Chase and Ethan you could use the FR85 and the TFP. That way all the seats can be used with 2 kids and the adjustments should be pretty easy. I have found the TF to be easy to adjust.

So that just confirms what I was thinking as well: Keep the FR85, Argos and TFP.

But the thought of parting with my plum RN makes me want to :crying:!

If you'd like to keep the RN, can you do 3-across?

Not sure of the kids' sizes, but what about a different approach? Argos for the girls, outboard. TF for the boys, outboard/FF. Then RN RF center for Chase. They could all stay installed at all times. If they don't fit 3-across, then I'd still use the same seats, just leave the TF in there at all times and switch the Argos & RN as needed.

If you're totally set on the F85 then ignore all that and replace it with "yeah that" to the rest.

I haven't tried a 3 across with the RN in the center yet. The one time I did try 3 across (New Year's Eve) it was with a TB center, and the MR RF with Nour in it, and the TFP FF with Zain.

I'd have a hard time parting with the FR85 as well because it was the $115 Wayfair special, plus Zain loves his big boy, Cowmoo seat. In fact, he had the TFP in his mom's van, and started crying and complaining about it being a "baby seat" so that is when she got him an Onyx FR85 and Nour an Eliza Argos! I seriously doubt I could get 3 across with the FR85 in the mix. That thing is a beast! I wish I could though, because if I could leave 3 seats in there at all times that would work for all of the kids, I'd love it!

So now I'm thinking about selling the TFP because as much as I love it, the thing is a beast. The only one who needs a convertible is Chase and he is so darn tiny, he doesn't need that huge seat. So I am thinking of ordering a MA70 or BLVD 70 from Barnes & Noble since the price is so good. I would still have the no-rethread harness and I love how quickly and easily the Britax seats install. Am I nuts?
