Straps getting wet.

I know you're not ever supposed to get the straps wet when cleaning, but what about when those wonderful "leak proof" cups tips over and completely soaks a strap? It kind of makes me nervous!

There's a difference between straps getting wet and leaving them to soak. If they get wet from a leak and you dry them ASAP, they should be fine. It's leaving straps to soak that causes the problems. (Just like you get wet when you shower, but you don't get quite as pruny as when you soak in a tub for the same length of time... straps get wet from a leak or spot cleaning, but they don't absorb as much water in between the weave as when they sit soaking in something).

I've tried drying them but it seems impossible.. It was the strap that you pull to tighten the harness on the Signo... thanks :) your explanation made sense! :)

Yeah, the problem isn't in getting them wet- some manuals suggest wiping down with a damp rag or using some mild soap on them. The problem is soaking them, using harsh cleaners, and washing them in the washing machine. A sippy cup spill is totally fine :).
