Looking for a carseat

Hi, My son is 3 and had a spinal cord injury about a year ago. He uses a wheel chair. He has high tone in his legs, but from his waist up is a bit lower tone. I wouldn't say extremely low, but lower than normal. He is about 39lbs and 38inches tall. He has a Titan that he was RF in until he got too big. I've never felt like it really worked well for us, especially for long trips. He can't shift his weight by himself, so comfort is important. His therapist has mentioned either the Britax Traveler plus or the Special Tomato MSP. Do any of you have any experience with either of these?

I'm not a tech, but I saw that your question hasn't been answered yet. I'm hoping somebody will be better able to answer your question for you.

Welcome to c-s.org:)

I don't have experience with either of those seats, but I'm hoping one of the CPSTs certified in special needs will be along to answer your question about those specific seats soon.

I'm concerned that your DS is so close to the limit on the Titan and he might have outgrown in already. Where are his shoulders in relationship to the top harness slot? If his shoulders are above the top harness slot, he's already outgrown the seat by torso height. We might need to help you get a seat to use immediately.

Are you going to try to get insurance to cover the new car seat?
