Explain, please!

Does my daughter have some sort of strange mood/heat/weather/mind-induced expandable torso?! WTH!

A few months ago, she was just over the top slots in the Radian. Now she's under them?! Explain, please! Maybe she was sitting weird the first time? I measured her before and torso was 18-18.5" but she kept wiggling. *now* it looks closer to 16.5! Seriously?!

This seriously gives me hope for our 3across.

I bought a Radian for the new baby, it's supposed to come today. I got it in Plum  but I was going to give it to my 2yo to use, and give her Ventura XTSL to the baby because we're not finding out the gender.

DD1 has been booster training and in a booster full time except for crazy long rides and in Grandma's car (it's just easier to keep the Frontier85 with them for Sunday outings). She has done extremely well, and leaned out of position once because my DD2 kicked her in the arm  She even sleeps perfectly in it (leans her head back/up or rests it on a wing without leaning out).

I know she's really young. She's 4y2m old. I was booster training her so she'd be ready for September when the baby comes and she'd *have* to go into a booster. Now I'm thinking that might not have to happen!

I could put her in the RXT and get something else (CCO :p ) for the baby. Or I could try and see if the two Radians and the Frontier will work as a 3-across.

Either way... just wow. What gives?!

Is she slouching now? Two inches in torso height is a lot to lose. I don't see how it could be possible unless she was clearly sitting incorrectly before. I'd try her in the seat again to be 100% sure she wasn't slouching or scooched down.

Did you wash the cover and leave the padding out by accident?

My kids have adjustable torsos too ;) but not that severe. Right now, when I put Ds in the radian he is just over the second to top slots, but five minutes into the drive he is just below so I haven't decided if I should move them up yet or not.

Did you have the seat installed in a different position? In my corolla, my nephew was over the top slots of the radian when it was installed outboard, but under them when it was in the center.

I notice the headrest on our Radian for my son slips down and I push it up again. So sometimes he is under a bit and sometimes he is more at.

Did you move the crotch strap? DD2 loses space when I move the crotch strap out. Yes, she's probably slouching a bit with that but she's comfortable.

I did move the crotch strap and the first time we tried it was in the house, this time it was in the car installed FF for her to try (I'm playing musical car seats today :p )

She's at grandma's house right now, but I'm going to check again when she gets back.

She's always had a monster torso though... it was 15" at 15 months!

I'd put the seat in the seating position you would have her in and try her there. Seats installed in different seating positions and vehicles can make the fit different. That said, 2in is a lot to loose! I know my ds has a super long torso (outgrew the Regent at 5 years 1 mo old), but I was able to get an extra half an inch (which was 6 months) of use out of his Regent by moving him to the center seating position instead of outboard in my car. Now he's almost 8 and is at the top slots of his monterey and only 1 more click on his parkway. Too bad I don't have the same luck with switching seating positions using the booster.

Different coat/sweater/clothes/diaper on last time? Co-operating vs not co-operating?

Never noticed a change in height, but it wouldn't surprise me!

My short 6yo still fits, he's the size of a *huge* 4yo and has space to grow, if that's any help...

Maybe her dress was bunched up under her last time? Maybe she was stretching last time and slouching this time? If we don't get too much snow tonight I'll play carseats in the morning and see.

I'm really hoping I can get the two Radians and the FR85 in the car to puzzle.. then I can just harness her regardless without worrying about outgrowing the Radian.
