From the Radian 65 manual:
Do not use restraint after is has been involved in any accident. Damage to the restraint may have occurred which could impair its ability to adequately protect a child.

here is a copy of the email I received

> ACCIDENT REPLACEMENT
>
> We recommend you replace your car seat once it has been involved in an accident.
>
> As stated in our manual on page 7 " Do not use restraint after is has been involved in any accident.  Damage to the restraint may have occurred which could impair its ability to adequately protect a child."
>
> To determine if your car seat needs to be replaced we recommend using the following NHTSA criteria.
>
> NHTSA's recommendation that replacement is unnecessary after a "minor" crash
>
> A crash is considered to be minor and the child seat involved in it is safe for reuse if it meets ALL of the following criteria:
>
> 1.       A visual inspection of the child safety seat, including inspection under any easily movable seat padding, does not reveal any cracks or deformation that might have been caused by the crash;
>
> 2.       The vehicle in which the child safety seat was installed was capable of being driven from the scene of the crash;
>
> 3.       The vehicle door nearest the child safety seat was undamaged;
>
> 4.       There were no injuries to any of the vehicle occupants;
>
>       and;
>
> 5.       The air bags (if any) did not deploy.
>
> If you feel your accident met the above criteria than you should not need to replace your car seat.  However if you have doubts about the safety of your car seat than it is always better to err on the side of caution and replace the car seat.

I would consider asking Allana what their official statement is on crashes. Replace after any crash, or follow NHTSA guidelines if the parent is comfortable?

Tell us a little about your accident?

We've found that this:
4. There were no injuries to any of the vehicle occupants;

And this:
1. A visual inspection of the child safety seat, including inspection under any easily movable seat padding, does not reveal any cracks or deformation that might have been caused by the crash;

Get overlooked a lot. Have you gone over your seat to make sure there are no stress marks, none of the foam has been dented, etc.? Were there ANY injuries to the vehicle occupants? Bruises from the seat belt? Sore necks? Minor injuries are still injuries. Car seats don't self-repair like human bodies do, so if the car seat was injured it's not going to be OK after a couple of advil and a good night's sleep.

I pulled out to far at a inner section and got clipped by a passing vehicle it dented my front bumper and broke one of the headlights there were no injuries all three kids were RF and slept through it I drove home with no problems there is no visiable damage to the car seat I had a water bottle in the cup holder up front and it didn't even have any damage I felt fine after the accident not even a sore neck or shoulder from the seat belt

Then it sounds to me like Diono is telling you it's ok to use. I'd keep the seat and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. I would provide full disclosure both of the accident and of Diono's response if you ever choose to sell or hand down the seat to someone else.

thank you I feel better now I do want my child safe but can't afford a new Radian for him as my husband is out of work and thing are really tight right now I also don't ever plan to sell it I am going to use it until it expires
