Nautilus or Maestro

Which do you prefer? Would you recommend a maestro as a full time seat? Or go with the Nautilus? Trying to figure out which seat to recommend for a 3yo, 30lb'er. Money is kind of an issue. I think the nautilus would be the max at $130 on Amazon.

I think the Maestro would be fine for a kid that's 30lb at 3. Should get kiddo to a safe booster age. I like the Maestro cause you don't have to assemble it and its easy to change the harness height.

I like them both and recommend both, especially when money is an important factor. I love my Nautilus, but some kids don't need the weight and height on that.

My son loves his maestro! He says he's really comfortable... I did order him an Argos too

Sent from my iPod touch, sorry for any auto-correct typos!

My son picked his Maestro out over the Frontier and a year later he still loves it and is comfortable even on crazy long drives. I will be sad when he outgrows because I love it too!!!

We actually sold our Nautilus and kept the Maestro, if that helps any. She had terrible head slump in the Nautilus. Currently, the Maestro is DD2's primary seat and she is very comfy in it. I love that it's lightweight and easy to install. My only complaint is that the straps are a little close to her neck.

She says it's her favorite seat because of the cupholders.

Sorry I hope I can piggyback off this thread. I am considering both seats also but it would be for my dh's car that dd rarely rides in. We just got 2 fr85 for my car and my parents car since she is in there 3x a week. I would like to save some money but it really isn't an issue. She just turned 3 and 30lbs 37 inches. This would also be our travel car seat for plane travel and rental cars. Ah thoughts?

My son has sat in his Maestro as a full time seat ever since he was 37 months and 33 lbs. He even sleeps in it.

ETA: We have flown with the Maestro as well. It didn't fit through the x-ray machine, but they wanded the seat and that was that. It actually allowed my son to use the tray to work on! Which he couldn't do with the Britax convertibles we'd previously flown with. Though it was at an angle so still not an option for drinks.

Another option in the same price range is the new evenflo securekid 300 its got the same basics of the meastro with an adjustable headrest. I have had mine for about two weeks and love it. The meastro was our everyday seat and I actually like the securekid better. :)

We have both but are new to using both.

I will say that DS threw up all over his Nautilus last week. I had to take it completely apart (to remove harness straps you have to take the back off from the base). If needing to remove the cover is an issue for you, the Maestro would just slip right off once you got the harness straps removed with no need to disassemble the seat (not that it comes apart anyway). BUT, I only had to take off the cover that was on the bottom of the seat (where he sits). It was just the ordeal of removing the harness straps and crotch buckle that was kind of a pain. I haven't tried putting it back together b/c I kind of dread it. :p

That being said, you have plenty of spare seats, it sounds like so, should that happen, you could just pop another seat in there while you're cleaning the other.

Both are easy to install. The Maestro is SIGNIFICANTLY lighter, so note that for travel.
