I got the opportunity to see this car seat in person at my local walmart and i'm really impressed.

L is 8 months old 18lbs

I didn't feel like strapping her in but the top slot was at her shoulders (as is the onboards)

In comparison here she is in her onboard

For 150 dollars for the car seat and stroller I don't think its too bad. its the only front adjust car seat this walmart had.

It looks taller than the on board, which my 27 month still fits in. Does it come with infant padding and strap covers? For that price you could get the system, sell the stroller on CL and get some money back.

cute cover too! If I remember correctly the embrace35 has a straight handle and has a rebound position for use in the car but still requires the 1.5" of clearance right?

No infant padding but it looked like it had low top slots...i think it might be taller but she doesn't have as much leg room and it seems narrower

Yes and the anti rebound position looks really neat its more curved then straight. But I think the 1.5" of clearance wouldn't be so bad since the handle doesn't have to be down.

You can buy just the car seat for 89 dollars on amazon [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Evenflo-Embrace-Infant-Seat-Breakout/dp/B006PB2AN8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1329535667&sr=8-2"]Amazon.com: Evenflo Embrace 35 Infant Car Seat, Breakout: Baby[/ame]

Is this the same width as the regular Embrace?

I'm looking for a narrow infant seat, and Evenflo is back in the running if the handle doesn't have to be down on this one.

Its pretty narrow I'd say its as narrow if not narrower than the onboard...no the handle doesn't have to be done but it has to be in the rebound position

The higher versions of the Embrace 35 will have some infant padding. I don't know that any of them have strap covers.

The seat is nice and narrow yet pretty tall. I like the new handle (much nicer than the zig zag one) and antirbound position.

At KIM, the Evenflo guy said that by their measurements, due to the curved handle and antirebound bar, the Embrace 35 took up less space front to back (even with the 1.5") than the old Embraces, despite the slightly taller shell. Those curved handles took up a lot of space!
