Safest in front seat with no airbag rf, ff, booster, or seat belt?

This came up in a FB group I'm on and it got me wondering. It's a hypothetical question, but which would be safer in a front seat with no air bag. A RF seat, FF harnessed seat, booster, or seat belt if the child is under 12 yrs?

If there is no active airbag I would continue to practice the same standards I have for the back seat. Ff harness or booster would greatly depends on whether a top tether was available.

The front seat is the least safe seat in the vehicle, so you put the safest child. Rear facing is the safest as long as there is no airbag to worry about.

Of course, never ever put a rear facing child in front of an active airbag. Ever.

My toddler rides RF when she's in the pickup (no back seat and no airbags at all) just like she does in all the other vehicles.

I saw a toddler FF in the front the other day (car). The girl was maybe 1 or 2. FF; no idea about if there were airbags. I thought it was a puppy at first!

And I think the back seat was full and this was the only seat.

If I were stuck absolutely having to put a toddler in a front seat with an airbag, she would be FF. Maybe that family was just doing the best they could with what they had to work with.

If no air bag, then the rfing child goes up front.
