So got the diono montereys and love the fit for my girls but the seat belt keeps coming out of the guide at the shoulder and I can't them to stay in. The are both riding outboard 3rd row in a 2001 town and country. Am i doing something wrong? Does it have to stay in the belt guide?

I've read numerous threads on this issue. You are not doing anything wrong.

Hopefully someone will come along and post the links to some threads relating to this topic. Otherwise, do a Search.

Ok thanks. They seem to fit great the shoulder belt is farther from their body than if it would be in the shoulder belt guide but the seats fit the girls very nicely. I just am so used to the seat blt being snug against their body.

Please post on Diono's FB page, and phone and talk to them. They need to know this is a HUGE problem. I complained about it & got an e-mail from Allana Pinkerton (Diono's "CPS advocate") asking me for info on this problem. I still need to get back to her . Unfortunately I can't be a whole lot of help to them because I don't have the seat any more.

Are you saying the shoulder belt doesn't touch their bodies? Or just not in the same way as you're used to? Can you post photos?

I would have to put them back in the car but i think the shoulder belt doesn't touch their body when it is out of the guide. I will try and post pictures later.

I would not be ok with the belt not touching their body.

I'm in agreement.

Can you watch how they unbuckle themselves? I initially wondered if this might be an issue in our car because the very first time my dd unbuckled it looked like it might slip out, but it didn't and it's ended up not being a problem. I think if she unbuckled herself differently it could be a problem in our car though and I could quite easily see where it might become a problem.

Is it possible to teach them how to put the shoulder belt through the guide when it comes out? I don't think they come out during use - just during the buckle or unbuckle stage?

I don't know when exactly it came out but it did on both of our seats. When they get hone from school i will have them sit in them and take pictures.
