Oober Clek fit?

DS1 hated the Oobr. It had a very short stay in our line-up. He complained non-stop about his legs and back hurting. He always seemed to poke his back/chest foward in it - the same way he did in the X-Fix. It LOOKED uncomfortable, to be honest. And I couldn't seem to "train" him not to do it.

As far as his legs hurting, the Oobr is raised a bit more than most boosters, so the bigger drop, in addition to the non-generous seat depth, is likely what made his legs uncomfortable. Now, that said, he's currently riding in an Olli in DH's truck and doesn't complain. However, with the back on the Oobr, leg support is more limited.

My dd is tall-ish (75% percentile at her 6 year checkup), not sure about her leg-to-torso ratio, but I'd call her lanky (6 slim pants size) and she finds it comfortable so far. I give her a foot prop for long trips but I'd do that for any seat. She doesn't complain around town.

Now just 'cuz I'm curious, how tall is your daughter?

We just bought this seat from Glockchick. Dd loves it. Here she is in it.

OMG! She is TOO cute!!
She looks like she has a long torso?
I did see that seat for sale and that's what got me thinking about it. I love the look of it.
She really looks terrific in it! (If we just wanted to talk about aesthetics here. ;)

She looks great in it! Ultimately, I asked my 7 year old what she preferred and she picked her TB over the Oobr. She as much as told me that it was because she preferred the print on the TB over the plain Clek. ;)

My daughter loves it so much we have two. She is a long-legged thing and does need a big cushion or sleeping bag underfoot, but that's an easy fix and the recline is sublime for sleeping.

My son begged and begged for a "monkey skull" booster. He wound up so uncomfortable that he practically begged me to get rid of it. :( No leg support, he looked (and felt) like he was sliding off, and the belt guide was weird, IMO. He was 6 at the time, very tall, very lanky (long torso and long legs). We were both bummed because we WANTED to like it so much :(

My skinny 7 year old hated it from the first time she sat in it. And I just don't understand why we should need to provide foot stools for kids, the boosters (especially such expensive ones) should provide adequate support. I just find it odd that so many people think it's a normal thing to do.

I have an Oobr for training, and have played with it with ds in it...can't stand it. I find the seat base too short (as does ds). I do like that it LATCHes...I wish ALL boosters would latch, frankly. The fit is ok, just not comfortable for him.
