Any studies or info about not using shelf liner

Anyone have any studies or anything of the like that says that shelf liner is not good for installing car seats on leather vehicle seats. I know it's not supposed to be done and can melt into the seat, etc, but I need something to show some other techs that I know what I'm talking about. Anyone have anything?

I don't think I've ever seen actual information about it. Just experienced techs saying it's melted onto vehicle seats.

What exactly do your tech friends require? To me its pretty simple..

Synthetic plastic rubber stuff gets hot in summer heat. Then it melts a bit. Then the vehicle seat has melted synthetic rubber stuff stuck on. It sucks and makes people mad. The end.
