How do we feel about the ProRide?

I rarely here it mentioned around here and a friend asked me about them. Her husband is a big racing enthusiast so he's really into the Recaro name. For $220 and a 35 pound RF limit I know they could get WAY more seat for their money but other than that I'm just curious how people like it. How's the shell height? Will it last as long RF heightwise as the other decent convertibles? How about ease of use and install?

I'm not sure exactly about shell height, but I know kids often outgrow it by width first. Their shoulders get squished. It also has minuscule leg room RFing and little leg support FFing.

I had a Como which is similar... for RF it was not so good. It was the only seat I've had where my then-3yo complained that they were squished and uncomfortable. Usually they just froggy the legs up and are fine, but this seat is really very shallow for leg room. Here is a pic:

It's very like the Signo. Some kids don't seem to mind the leg room problem but it's an issue for many.

RFing it lacks legroom in a big way.

It does however make a great supportive FFing seat for kids with low tone.

My kids fit wonderfully in it FFing because they're very thin (no prob with shoulder room). I would've kept it (I sold it) except I had to decide between selling it or the radian. And the recaro wasn't practical for RFing ...but the radian is good at both FFing and RFing.
