Straps pushing on her G Tube

I have a friend who has an almost 3 year old, 33lb child who has a G Tube. She says her daughter often cries that the "seat is hurting her tubie".
Is there any advice I can offer her?

She's in a True Fit, and I can find out where her tube is located. I haven't seen it myself.............I'll post when I know!

Sometimes padding can help. That padding could come in the form of rolled washcloths on either side of the tube to create a gap for the tube. A member here has a Nautilus crotch pad on her Frontier because that's what her tubie needs.

Neither of those are approved "fixes." Officially you never add anything to the seat, don't use aftermarket padding, and don't put anything other than regular clothes between the child and the harness. In a special needs situation, you start bending the rules as little as possible to accommodate the child's needs while not compromising the child's safety.

Her tube is just above her navel, to the left of it. Mom said the straps on her seat going from the chest clip to the lower buckle rub. Short trips are not too bad but her stoma is quite irritated by the end of a long trip

Perhaps she can get a belly pad for the True Fit? I know when they first came out, if you called and asked they'd send you one (VERY similar to Britax's Classic belly pads). And True Fit Premiere comes with them.
