Radian harness slot question

I have ds in the 3rd slot from the bottom, and it's definitely way below his shoulders. Looking at him in the seat, I think he could move up to the next slots and still have them be okay, but the slots appear to be covered by the headwings? Do I probably have the wings not adjusted properly, or is he probably just not ready to move to the next slot (if you had to guess without seeing it, b/c he's in bed and I can't get a picture right now)?

I'm guessing that either the headwings are *just* covering the slot, or he's not ready. I keep trying to move them up on DD but then realize that she's way below the slot still. The headwings pull the cover down, so the cover slots look lower than the actual slot in the shell. There is a big gap between the third and fourth slots.

I moved the harness on our RN XT from the third to the fourth slot and back again several times before it looked "right". It is a big gap between those two slots, and the headwings will move up a bit when you move the harness up.
The only way to know is to try it and see what it looks like.
