I know NEVER to buy a used carseat but we have a couple that have been used for a few months that we don't need anymore b/c our after school situation changed...So if you have ever sold a carseat where did you list it? Craigslist, Ebay? If it matters 2 are Apex 65 that are about 8 months old and 1 is a 2 week old radian. I want to get the most I can for them with the least hastle is thats possible.

Or Do you just not sell your extra seats and keep a collection;) Dh thinks our storage closet looks like a BRUS

I've used Ebay :shrug-shoulders: It's an excellent location where people nationwide can view what you have to offer. You can designate "Local pickup only" if you're in a large enough region that can support your sale.

I know I've been extremely truthful with the 2 seats I've sold on there. I have reputation points that have been hard earned through honest selling and buying over the past year. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize them, nor would I want to sell something unsafe for someone else's child.

While I will not purchase a used carseat for my own child, imo, I am selling an item that is in excellent like-new condition to someone who might not be able to afford the same model or brand at the original retail price. :)

Or you could list it here on the swap if you have access to post there.
If your Radian is only 2 weeks old, why not return it to where you bought it?

I sold mine on craigslist with a copy of the used car seat checklist so that they knew they had everything covered. It was a Scenara so I asked what size child that they would be using it for before hand. The kiddo was a little over a year old and weighed less than 30 pounds so I printed some info on ERF and had that in with the stuff as well. :D

Well I used it in the car for a week. So I am under the impression it is technically "used" and can not be returned

Maybe it's a grey area here, but imo, as long as the seat/accessories are in pristine condition, you have all the appropriate paperwork that came with the seat (such as the Reg. Card), and you have your receipts, it's perfectly okay to return it since it didn't fit your needs.

Usually, that's part of a try-out period because no one can guarantee that a carseat will be perfect for all consumers. :shrug-shoulders:

But again, that's my personal opinion, but it's been supported by store return policies where I've shopped at. :)

Oh, you ordered it online and not from Target.com or Elitecarseats.com with their return shipping, that's definitely another story. :( yeah, it's around $25 minimum for parcel post on a carseat and then they like to hit with the 'restocking fee'. It's basically refunding THEIR shipping expense.

You could always ask if the business has a brick and mortars location near you. :shrug-shoulders:

good luck :) Perhaps you have a friend or acquantance through work that might be interested?

I sold our infant seat on Craigslist with a very very very detailed ad including many pictures. Highlighted the expiry date and other information such as it had not been in a accident if it had been we would have destroyed it. And included a link to the used car seat check list.
My DH dropped it off yes we even deliver:) and I post noted the manual with additional information.
I would not buy a used seat but am aware that others do(for whatever reason-financial reasons or being unaware of the dangers of unknown used seats)..my selling this seat that I know is perfectly safe to use might ensure that the parent did not buy one that was not.

Course all my e-mail correspondence included as part of my siggy...links to car seat expiry information, ERF, Importance of extended harnessing etc etc.

So you know that the parents who I responded back too at least read this even if they did not buy from me.

About your apex, are they the taller harness height? I might be interested in one! I babysit an autistic 8 year old once in awhile, and the apex is the tallest for the seat belt positioner.
