Could someone please post pics of Monterey w/ old and new belt guides?

Does anyone have time on their hands today and want to do some nerdy car seat pics?:D I really want to see what kind of difference the newer style belt guides make on the fit for a thin child. The belt guides were supposed to have changed on the SK Monterey in April, I think; and of course the Diono Monterey would have the new guides. Does anyone have both and want to play with them today? Pretty please?

I don't have both, but I will tell you that the old one we used to have did NOT fit as well as the Diono. I also LOVE how much easier the new one is to get the seat belt in/out.

DD is 6 (7 in February) she started riding in the SKM at age 5.5. We had difficulty with the old seat sidewings "growing" with the old seat and making the seatbelt move too close to the side of her shoulder to suit me. She is now 42# and wears size 6 jeans 6x-7 shirts not sure on height. Although the sidewings still grow some on the Diono one with the new harness guide, the seatbelt stays in place.
Also when she first started riding in the SKM she would accidentally lock the seatbelt. With the old guides this was a PITB as you have to shimmy the seatbelt out of the tiny opening in the old one. The new guide opening is much easier to use. appropriate size

I'd love to see pics of the same kid in the new and old version as well. I have read (on here I think) that the new belt guides have their own issues. I think it was that the seat belt was not staying in the belt guide?

I have the older style Monterey, brand new in the box never been used no luck selling it! So i can't say anything about the belt guides. The old style looks like it would hold the seat belt better because it has the little prongs pointing slightly upward to prevent the belt from slipping through more easily. The prongs of the new one look more rigid so the belt would also be more prone to slipping through as opposed to having more "give" in the older style which might help? I'm no expert just guessing

Thank you! That helps alot. I think with the headrest up a click the fit would be even better on smaller kids. It's good where it is, but he's right at the guides.

Your welcome! He was in my friend's van. In my car he has a little more room since the seat is reclined a little more. I will check again tomorrow when we go somewhere to see if I need to adjust it.

I have both old and new Monterey in my van right now. I have yet to check the fit and use on my 6 year old. But it IS in the plans... lol.
I can get pictures later today if you want.
Here is a picture of the seats side by side. It looks like the new version will allow me to see out the back window just a bit better...lol
