Ok so when baby comes we will have 8 all together. Its already annoying enough not being able to transport all at one time and will.only get worse. What are some larger passenger vehicles to start looking at? Obviously I need head reats and lap shoulder belts. Thanks for your help!

I've seen some Ford 12 passenger vans with seats that have higher backs and all lap/shoulder belts. There is also the Dodge Sprinter, which is really nice.

Have you considered 8-passenger vans? I don't know if your family is complete at 8 or not. But I know my Sienna is very 3-across friendly in both rows. Lap/shoulder and head restraints in all eight positions.

We have 8 kids :) I have found an 8 passenger van on cl I'm considering. It just doesn't solve my problem when dh kids are with us.

Personally, unless there was no other alternative, I would not consider any full size van that lacked stability control. I am reluctant putting my family in older transit shuttles. For daily use, finding one that has side curtain airbags would also be a top priority.

What about a 9-passenger full size SUV? I think this is available in various GM models.

They make 9 passenger Suburbans, but the 9th passenger sits between driver and front passenger. Darren, would you recommend that over a 12 passenger van?

It wouldn't be daily. We only have his kids every other weekend. We do have the twins all summer, so we would have 5-6 at a time. We currently have a town and country that we would continue to use for daily use. We honestly aren't people that drive often. Work/school/babysitter thru the week. Maybe head into town on the weekend one day to shop.

I think the Tahoe and Yukon have the same setup. Personally, I'd rather have my family in one of those if it had stability control and side curtain airbags over any of the full size vans. Of course, if you need to seat more than 9, you don't have much choice.

We have 6 kids and are looking at upgrading to a 12 passenger van (likely an E350, for towing capacity), that is a 4 wheel drive. I love my 8 passenger Suburban, but it's just not big enough, and I'd like a few more kids, eventually.

Well damn. That was easy. I just told dh that I found our next vehicle. As soon as he pins on his next rank, I'm going to go order one of those. I'm not even bothered with the thought of buying it new or paying full price for it. We're going to drive that FOREVER. lol
