1998 Dodge Durango

I have a 1998 Dodge Durango with the 3rd seat being very short. Can I safely put a carseat back there? When I tried a highback booster it kept tipping forward. Would it be safe to put a five point harness?

How old, tall, and heavy is the child? And by short, are you referring to the depth of the seat or the amount of leg room?

Is there a head rest that's causing the tipping forward, or do you mean it's sliding off the edge of the seat?

I have a 98 durango also and it gets kinda tough to place seats.. you can't put a RF or really any seat in the middle row middle seat because the cup holder/arm rest flops down.
I'm pretty sure I've had my oldest 5pt seat back there before. I don't remember any issuse with it.(so there probubly weren't any for me). Too cold out to go look at the car now
