Would you skip top tether for one night for this situation?

My Chevy Venture's 3rd row top tether anchor is a huge PITA to get to. The only way to access it is to have someone hold the car seat against the ceiling, lay the 3rd row down, hook the TA, put the seat back up, and then install the car seat. On Saturday, my folks are riding with us to the "city" near us (35 miles away) to look at Christmas lights. I'm moving the kids to the 3rd row for that and am tempted to have dd2 use the GN untethered. I know the GN does very well testing w/o the top tether. Would you do it for one night just to avoid the hassle? I know it's not a huge deal, but I also know if you have a TA, use it.

You should be able ti acces the TA by placing the GN in the seat, feed the strap under the headrest then pull the seat back out as far as you can and halfway fold down the vechicle seat. HTH, it's what worked in my 02 Venture.

A 35-mile drive and then "city" traffic? And it's possible to tether, just inconvenient? I'd tether, but I don't think it's the worst choice in the world to do otherwise.

I agree.

But I think I, personally, would try to work through the hassle and do my best to get the Nautilus tethered, considering the install is in the 3rd row, where, typically, you're much closer to the seat(s) in front of you.

No, with my 3rd row bench, the TA is underneath a piece of plastic that can only open up when the seat is laid down. Hope that makes sense? I may just do it - didn't think about the untethered seat hitting the 2nd row seat. Ugh. I just HATE this Venture for many reasons. Car seat installation is near the top of the list...

Can you pop the plastic cover off to make it easier to get to?
