Vent I hate shipping seats.

I know, right? There have been a couple of times when I wanted to trade seats with someone on this board, but after adding up the shipping costs both ways figured out it was totally not economical to do so. :(

It's not the heaviness that gets you, it's the girth. Your box hass to be less than 108 inches completely around and height. My uncle is a post master and I have been known to whip out my own tape measure if I get a pissy clerk. I generally use the same size box that I know fits or I cut down a box to stay under the limit.

We had the same issue with a PS. Found out that if the box had been cut down 2" total, it would have been something like $25.

Wow... that sucks! I live in the middle of the country so shipping isn't too terrible if i can get it under the 108 mark.... but yeah, if you live on one coast and ship it to the other it'll be $$$$.

Sorry

The difference in price between a 107" box and a 108" box is $50.

Yeah when he told me "that'll be 69.xx" I said wait, what? And I took my box back so I could modify it.

And this is where the post office fails.

I had a box that only weighed 2.1lbs and it was in a somewhat large rectangle box. Well because of the "Odd size" the price went from what should have been around $14 shipped to $82.00.

Absolutely ridiculous. I ended up shoving the thing into a flat-rate box and shipping it. I wasn't suppose to bend it but for a $70 difference that thing is gonna bend.

I sent something similar out the other day. I took several containers to the PO, and the best I could so was $10-ish in a Priority tyvec envelope. Pp was $11-something. Anything over 13 oz (OUTBOARD think) is going to be $10 and up. At last that's what the postal clerk said.

Sent from my phone using the app :)
