3yo complaining of back pain in seat

DD (3.5, RF) has lately been complaining a lot that her back hurts when she's in her car seat. She's in a TFP or TF in my car. The complaints started several months ago but was only on long trips at first. Then she started complaining more frequently. She rides in a MR in my mom and MIL's cars and has only complained once with MIL that I know of.

It's not an every ride thing. Sometimes she's just fine. But when she complains about it, it seems to be pretty bad. She doesn't just say it hurts, she's crying and trying to get out within a couple minutes of it starting to hurt.

Has anyone had experience with kids complaining of back pain? Do you think it is something with DD, or with the seat? Would FF possibly make a difference? I'm not ready to turn her, but if it fixed the problem, I'd be willing to consider it.

Now that I think about it, my ds also complained of back pain while in his True Fit. I felt around under the cover, and figured it had to do with cover placement or the unevenness of the cover padding.

We switched to a Radian when he forward faced (and he now rides in a Frontier85).

Both the girls complained of their back/butts hurting in the TFP rf on long trips. We jsut took a trip over to Disneyland and Addy ff the whole time. Im guessing its because her legs are so long compared to her torso it puts alot of pressure on her lower back when she is in a small space(we rent a small car for trips) She is usually jsut fine rf in the TFP in my rodeo because she has more leg room and she is more reclined than she is in a small car. I dont know if you can recline her anymore than she is now but that usually helps the girls.

Hmm, that fits. DD is all legs. She needs 4t pants, but can wear 24 month onesies and tops. But she's already pretty reclined. I have the TF in my car right now and I know it's in more reclined than I had the TFP before. She's still complaining, but I couldn't say if it's been less than before or not. I was going to switch back to the TFP as soon as I get a chance to clean out my car, so I'll pay attention to if her complaints increase with a more upright install.
