They interviewed people who kept yelling at her to get OFF the hood...but she wouldn't...even when the car was stopped. What a fool
There are definitely horrifying cases, like the above article, where losing custody of a child is warranted. However, the notion of a license to bear children has a whole host of complex societal and individual issues. For instance, in China, where the government's family size restrictions (one child per family policy), combined with a strong societal preference/pressure to bear a son, have created a host of problems. I don't see such a system being implemented here, tempting though it may seem on the surface when we react emotionally to such awful cases in the news. :twocents:
