What convertible seats aren't airlined approved?

Just wondering so I can give some info. I'm selling my uptown on craigslist and a lady asked if it was airlined approved because she said her seat now isn't. I thought all convertible seats were airlined approved?? I asked her what she had so hopefully she'll answer soon.

I don't know of a current convertible that isn't -- I'd ask her what the name & DOM of her seat is....

Same as the others. Honestly the only harnessed seat i can think of that ISN'T faa approved is the Regent/Husky

Safeguard Go is not (because it requires top tether) + Recaro Young Sport used to not be FAA approved, but it is now -- it's just a slowly rotating inversion test to make sure the dummy stays inside the seat ... not violent like the bench tests: they just have to spend the $ to get it done (I really can't imagine any harness seat not passing so long as it can be correctly installed in the airplane seat). Still, if a seat does not have the FAA approved sticker, then it'd prove a usless frustration when the attendant says you can't use it

When we flew to Orlando we were talking to another couple that had the same Scenera as us and they said that they had to buy it because their convertible was not FAA approved. I forgot to ask what they had. I think that there are some infant seats that are not ok, but I haven't seen any lately.

Well I'm out here in the boonies of Ohio and I can't think of a single seat that's sold or used around here that isn't ffa approved. I might feel a little differently if I was someplace that had some different seats, but basically all I see here is cosco, evenflo and graco and as far as I know they're all ffa approved. She said something about having a sticker on the side?? So I'm really wondering how old her current seat is. When did they start making seats ffa approved??

Is she Canadian or was she trying to fly in Canada for some reason? I know here the Flight Attendants look for the CMVSS logo which for them means its ok for Air travel.
