CPST in North Texas?

So I am looking into taking the class....if I can find one!. Anyway can I ask where you all volunteer/or work? How did you get started? Once you are certified can you get hooked up with Safe kids in Tarrant county or Dallas? Just curious to see how it works after I get certified

I am in North Texas (Collin/Denton County). I got started as a volunteer CPS tech & it just grew from there. I now work for a major hospital here as a CPS Tech & Educator in our Injury Prevention dept. We love volunteers at our hospital fitting station & SK events. We have monthly meetings to get new info and upcoming events. SK Dallas which is out of Childrens Hospital of Dallas does the same thing. We work closely with each other.

There is 2 upcoming CPS classes. One in Sept through Childrens Dallas & 1 here in Collin County with SK Collin County in Oct. I will be more then glad to get more info on either one for you.

WOW Jenny I would love a job like yours.!!!! Any information you could get me would be wonderful. I am actually in Keller so right inbetween Dallas and Denton. Either location would work. You can PM with any info you find out. Also do you have any contacts at Cooks Childrens in Fort Worth, thats our local hospital.

I can't beleive they have a paid job that you get do this for....seriously cool.

I feel very lucky to have the position I have.

I will get you some more info. I know the Dallas one will be at Childrens of Dallas Sept. 24-27. Our's will be Oct 8-11 but we are still trying to find a location to hold the class. I'll get more info for you on the Dallas one for sure.
