I've had someone local express interest in one of my Nautilus's for sale...for a 14-ish month old who just turned 20 lbs
My first gut reaction was no way am I selling a Nautilus to her for this child.
Then I stopped and put on my 'realistic' hat...
She posted a wanted ad at work, and I responded thinking that her child was older than 1, and had I known the child was so young I never would have responded.
The only seats I ever see here at work posted for sale are old seats within a few months of expiration (if not already well expired), and mostly seats that might likely be recalled for some reason or another.
Seats such as the above are frequently sold here (despite my continual work to prevent it), so if I don't sell her a Nautilus, chances are very good she will end up with one of these other seats.
But I'm still torn...it just rubs me the wrong way to sell someone a Nauti for a 1 year old, but on the other hand, the child is likely to be safer longer in my Nauti versus any other seat she buys here at work.
So would you...
Refuse to sell the Nautilus to her
OR
Sell the Nautilus to her but give her lots of info on the AAP recommendations, rear-facing safety, seat expiration, etc -- I've given her a bit (I do any time I interact about car seats to anyone who has a child under 4) and she didn't seem extremely receptive...
OR
Something else entirely?
