I hate my Radians but don't know what else to do? Suggestions?

I have almost-9yo twins in PW, a 6yo in a FR85SICT, a 4yo in a XTSL and a baby in a CCO. I have a 2001 Windstar with two bench rows, and have the following set up: PW/FF XTSL/RF CCO, and PW/F85.

The problem is the XTSL -- I cannot get it tight enough, no matter how much I ratchet the straps. Also, the PW doesn't have enough room to be on the bench entirely.

I heart the CCO.

Should I try PW/CCO/PW and F85/something else for the 4yo?

I'm totally ready to sell the Radians.

ETA: is there another good convertible with a big lip that the twins can buckle their PW around?

I'd for sure try the pw/cco/pw and in the back how about 2 FR 85's? Or if space is an issue, the new Evenflos are supposed to be out next month. They're narrow, being based on the Maestro. Personally, I hope it's early Dec. because I'm waiting for one myself.

I had this same issue with my 2 radians. Now I tilt the seat back an inch or two to install then I also twist the seat belt buckle 3 or 4 times. Then I put the back of the seat into normal position and attach the anchor point and it's rock solid!! HTH :)

Would it be possible for you to make a video of this???

Sounds like it would be a big help to others! :)

I thought she meant she couldn't tighten the harness enough. I also was hating my Radian because of that. Two things worked for me. The first was grabbing the harness behind the seat and pulling it snug on Matthew, then pulling the adjuster strap. What was even better and helped me get over it was having Matthew put on his own harness and not even adjusting the straps each time, just leaving it the same. He could get in and out of it just fine. I forget how old your rfer is, so don't know if that's possible or not.
