2009 Kia Sedona - is it safe?

Is it safe to install my new Diono RF to 45lbs with just the UAS? Or do I have to use a seatbelt now instead? I called the manufacturer a couple months ago to find out the weight limit on the UAS, but no one ever bothered to get back to me because I don't think anyone really knows the answer....

Kia defers to the child restraint manufacturer's limits. Sunshine Kids (former name of Diono - so I'm assuming the rules are the same but to be sure you should call them) allows use of their super latch to 80lbs or product maximum weight.

Since you're calling the connectors 'UAS' are you in Canada? The forward facing weight limit for harnessed seats is 65lbs if that's the case, not 80lbs like on some US seats.

It's in the Canadian forum so I would think OP is in Canada. :)

Um yes. I did realize that after I posted. It was late. I have no excuses :)

No excuses needed. I've been known to miss what forum something is in before and asked similar questions. There are a lot worse things to miss than what forum something is in.
