Has anyone seen this yet? Is not in the US, of course, but awesome innovative concept!

The base of the infant seat flips and you insert the infant seat that way and it becomes a convertible. Hard to describe :p Goes to 28lbs RF, 40lbs FF. Probably not the best ERF seat, but most seats in GB/NZ are lower arent they?

That is pretty cool.

I always find that Phil & Teds fail to live up to my expectations

Innovative idea, but how tall is that shell? It looks to me like it's reinforcing the idea that babies need to go from an infant seat to a FF seat .

Well, where it's sold, many/most babies DO. So, it's marketed to that segment.

If it RF to 35 and FF to 50 with a taller shell and harness, and had a tether for FF, it would be a fantastic seat here too. Not for everyone but smaller kids would get probably to 2-3 RF and 5-6 FF if you did it right, and that could be great for some families. A niche seat, like the CCO. Good maybe for grandparents, foster parents, people who have a wide range of kids riding with them...

You are totally correct my daughter is only 31 inches and 23 lbs at 2 yrs old so she could still rear face in this for quite awhile!

This. Outside of Sweden, ERF is not common in the rest of the world. It's pretty commonplace to FF 9 month olds.

I had lunch with a Phil & Teds rep yesterday for work and they have no plans to bring their seats to North America. They do not have any ERF options in their seat lineup but they do have some interesting looking seats. I think the Optimum could use some improvements as far as RF capacity but it's an innovative design.
