Not all that happy with LBP/Recline

Ok I wrestled with this carseat at 5:30 this morning to re-install it according to the new instructions. I was actually looking forward to using the LBP since many of you liked that install.

With the LATCH I had it rock-solid, not moving at all. Now it moves, not much, but it still moves and it bothers me. I think the recline bar is causing the problem. I am not very happy with it like this. Maybe I just don't have the strength to get it tight with all that extra seatbelt length. Any ideas?

Are you pulling on the seatbelt at the shoulder area? Instead, try pulling at the buckle to tighten the lap portion ... hold/pinch that area while you retract the shoulder (usually only necessary with switchable retractor, not so much with lightweight locking latchplates).

Papooses suggestion is excellent and I hope you get your kit soon so you can do long route with the new LATCH straps.

Thank you! I worked on it again and had to pull each section of the belt separately to get it to tighten properly. But it doesn't move now. Rocks just a bit at the top (I am using tether also), but before it was sliding on the seat. That was unacceptable to me, my Evenflo seats were installed better than that!

The seatbelts are the kind where you pull it all the way out, then as you retract it, it won't pull out anymore. Does that make sense? Not sure what they are called.

Now it looks like Justin is about even with the second from bottom slots, instead of under them like before. Anyway I have a few pics once I download the camera so you all can see if I have the recline bar and belt positioning right.

Thanks for the link! So now I know, I have free sliding latchplates with switchable retractors. The car I had when Justin was born had no LATCH and the seatbelts didn't lock. Imagine installing an infant seat base while 8 months pg in September, using a locking clip! So glad this car is easier to install in. :)
