Our new seat....

While in Savannah, I managed to go to toysrus, target, and burlington coat factory...

Toysrus had 4 AOEs and clones and no joke 5 turbos in diff. patterns but they did have a FPSVD and I LOVED the cover (kinda of a cotton/plyester PUL blend) Really impressive but not what we were looking for...

Target, another disapointment, though I did get to see the SS2 IRL and wow it is impressive...

Looked for walmart, and I couldn't find it, LOL...

Went to burlington coat factory and and first aisle I found the triumphs and they were the old style and were clearenced so maybe they will be getting the advance in the future....Then I saw it....an APEX 65...When we first put Jackson in it, I was disapointed and thought he only had a smidge to grow but then I was playing with the headrest and there was another set of slots under the headrest...YAY...so we bought it....

I am so glad that no matter how the regent problem goes I will have something else regardless...

The buckle was awfully low so I will be requesting another one from cosco.

That's great that he fits so nice in the Apex65! And if you take out the toddler pillow it should give him an extra inch to go!

Glad you found something that will work for you!

He looks like he loves it! I have never seen an Apex IRL but they look like they have nice covers. I am glad that you found something for him.

Definately call Dorel and ask for a new crotch strap- it makes a big difference!

Glad you found something that will work. :)

Wow, that is an adorable boy. ;) And he's tall!!! He's a good two inches or three inches taller in the torso than my kids and he has THAT much room!! WOW. I need to look at that seat. ;)

Oh yeah except it's not FAA approved. Lol.

Looks good. I am looking at one of those too. I measured the top slot at 16 1/2" I think without the body pillow. How do you find the head adjuster?

It really is odd that he fits with so much room; isn't he close to outgrowing the MA? I measure about 17.25" for the Apex's top slots (that exact cover, the Modern Blue, is the one I took pics of Hayley barely fitting in on Tuesday).

Yayyy! BTW it is FAA approved in harnessed mode. Papooses posted some pictures of her DD in her Apex on a plane in an older thread.

How much room does he have to grow when it's installed in the vehicle? Does that make a difference at all?

I thought the Apex was not FAA approved because it converts to a booster? I was told the same thing about the Recaro 40lb harnessed seat. That's why I eliminated them from my list of possibilities.... I'm so confused now?

Time to add that back to my list then, geesh. I will have to go look at one at BRU now. I know someone told me in a post it wasn't FAA approved but it was a while ago.

Good to know! :)
