Horrible! I should have stopped her

I had to take my ds his retainer at school this morning. I walked over and as I got up close to the doors, a lady walked out carrying a 2yo (looked to be 2). She put the little girl in the front seat, standing up, got in, and drove off!
I could not believe she didn't even put a belt on her and she wasn't sitting down! It wouldn't have done much good probably anyway but :jaw:
Geez people!

I would have called 911 with the license plate number for such a violation. I have called 911 in the past when I have seen unrestrained children and the dispatcher said it was perfectly appropriate and thanked me for my call.

Don't be too hard on yourself because nothing you would have said would have mattered to someone who would do that and the only thing you could have done is call 911. While I agree that calling 911 in this case would be completely appropriate, don't feel bad that you did not think of it on the spot. You'd have to have acted really quick and how many of us are really prepared for a situation like this?

I've seen some horrible things in car line.

One morning I was driving DS to school, neighborhood roads. I was stopped to turn when a minivan went by. I saw something in the windshield and thought maybe it was a bike or something (mom dropping off and child rides it home?). As they crossed in front of me I saw it was a child probably standing in the front on the floor.:eek: No one in the seat so no reason to be standing.

I've seen too many young ones in the front seat and a baby that had to be under a year old being placed in a FF seat and I still don't know if the woman strapped the baby in or not. :(

I live super close to the school and just ran over (my 2yo in a stroller). I didn't have my phone (don't carry it unless I'm in the car) nor anything to write on or I would have at least gotten the licence # and called our local # to report it. That poor baby, I just have such a hard time understanding why you'd put your precious little one in so much danger.
