Getting nauseous in the car

Evan has been complaining lately about getting a sick feeling in the car, even for short trips from school to home which take like 3-5 mins. This is new for him so I have no idea what to do. I'm not shocked as I can't sit in the 3rd row (where he is) for very long either and I definitely can't read in the car at all or I feel horrible. Fresh air helps me if I don't feel well but that's kind of hard to get to him in the 3rd row. Any thoughts? We're going to see my parents for Christmas and it's a good 6 hrs away, but we do generally try to travel at night so they sleep.

Is there any way to put him in the center of the 3rd row (with no 2nd row seat in front of him?) Seeing out the front window is the first thing to come to mind.

We have captains chairs so I'm not sure even if I moved him he could see, but I could try. I took away Ilana's booster privileges for now so I could move her back to the 3rd row again.

My girls get car sick a lot. I haven't found much to help except keeping air on them. They each have their own air vent which helps. I keep them pointing at their faces and always keep the air cold, even if it's cold outside. If the air is warm blowing at all, my 20 month old will throw up and my 6 year old feels sick. I give them and DS blankets to stay warm but cold air on their faces.

I don't know that much will help - I can't be in the rear seat of a van for more than about 30 seconds without feeling sick.

Middle row is slightly better - maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

My oldest gets car sick. She sits in the second row. When we go on long trips, she sits in the middle seat in the middle row.

Along with moving his seat, I would try Sea-Bands (the little wrist bands for motion sickness.) They work great for my boys when on the boat and were great for me while pregnant. Our pediatrician also recommended Benadryl which works the same as dramamine for kids. Obviously that would only be appropriate for the long trip, not the around town stuff. Dramamine makes my kids sleep but Benadryl is not as bad. If traveling at night I would give my kids the Dramamine if they got car sick.

I moved him to the middle row and he didn't complain at all yesterday and we were in the car for a good hour at least. So hopefully that helps.
