Why is Recaro on Baby Trend's website?

I've always been curious about the Baby Trend Flex-Loc & Latch-Loc infant seats, so I was browsing their site today and saw that they have a Recaro seat (the Start, I think), pictured in their 'booster seats' section. I'm confused... are the 2 affiliated in some way? Why would they have a Recaro seat on their site? :scratcheshead:

don't known but that's a start and thoes usally are $350 or so so the price at $199 is kinda funny! LOL

I didn't even look at the price! You're right! Now I'm even more confused.

That's strange!

You are right about the price, too. I checked to make sure Recaro didn't lower their suggested prices. Nope. On Recaro's website, it says the MSRP is $350.

well, the plot thickens when you look up the latch-loc on epinions; it is listed as the recaro latch-loc:

is it possible that babytrend had a licensing agreement with recaro to sell the latch-loc under the recaro name? perhaps as a way of introducing the recaro name to the carseat community?

You could be right, SPB. This could be the way the Recaro is being introduced.

Baby Trend is the one who originally brought the Start over to the US.

But I think the latch-loc was just mislabeled, it happens sometimes.

so can you order though baby trend? i tried to find the link.. but couldn't.. if i could get it for 199 i would in a minute i think! non expiry seat heck yeah! LOL

Now that you mentioned it, I've seen other things mislabeled on Epinions, too. So, was that $199 price what the Start sold for when Baby Trend first brought it to the US? That would be an incredible price, but I have a hard time imagining that it's not a typo or something. Does anyone know how long ago that was? Not that it makes any difference... I'm just curious!

No, when it first came, even years ago, it was like $389! I got mine with a AAA discount for $330 (such a deal...not...).
$199 is the occasional old-cover sale price, you just have to froogle for it every now and again (lots of us got them for that price last year, lol)...I think costco has them for $258 now (or is it sam's club?)

i know sam's club has it for $258 but it's only black and sand... we really want 2 colors... i could wait till the '07 go on sale... but how narrow are they compaired to the parkway?
