I believe you can only RF with the headrest on the bottom 2 or 3 positions so that wouldn't get you anywhere close to the top of the shell.

One inch from the top of the headrest. The headrest must be in the bottom or second position, no higher.

Here's a picture from the blog (comparing the Sym65 to the ETA) that shows what the max RF height position looks like. You definitely have a little extra room beyond the main shell going by the 1" rule:
