MyRide w/ Safety Surround-Pics!

I checked out the new MR w/ the increased SIP today. I only had my cell phone on me, but snapped a few pics.
The infant headwings are plastic w/ EPS foam and memory foam on top.

It has a velcro strap that goes through the unused harness slot and attaches to a plastic d-ring in back.

The upper SIP is just two pockets in the cover w/ memory foam, it doesn't look like any changes have been made to the shell itself. Obviously I can't know for sure, but I'm hoping this means those of us with older MRs can just order a new cover/padding for the increased SIP.

I didn't have time to try it w/ DS, but might go back tomorrow to see how he looks in it w/ the head wings.

No worries! You did a much more thorough inspection. We were just doing a quick BRU stop and it was a last minute thing that I popped into the car seat aisle to check it out. I do have to go back tomorrow though and will take pics of DS in it so we can see how a smaller child fits.

That would be really helpful b/c my DDs have large craniums and I would hate for someone to get the misconception that the head support is small.:p

Does the new MyRide have IMMI LATCH clips or the regular ones? I know I saw something about them switching over, but I wasn't sure if that was just for the My Size.

Also, when Graco says they'll be ready "second quarter 2012," what does that mean? I really, really like the My Size, but I need a new seat now. The question is whether to hold out for the My Size and just buy a Scenera for the meantime, or just go with the My Ride.

Hmmmm, that's a long time from now...

On the plus side, I think my son will have outgrown the Coccoro by then, so I won't feel so guilty about buying a new seat then, even if I do buy the My Ride now. :D
