Question Boosters..

Since I am not very familiar with HBB's I have a few questions.

1. Can the PKWY SGL be Latched for a child who is 55lbs and the LATCH limit is 48lbs??

2.My DD is 4 and I was wondering when I should start booster training her? She starts school in 2 years and I would like her to be able to use a HBB to go from DC to School which is about 5 minutes away. I am asking because my DS is 6.5yrs. old and was never really boostered trained and I am not quite comfortable having him in a HBB full-time but he covered his FR85 in vomit and now I have to order a new harness system and so he needs to use the PKWY SGL until I can get a new harness set. We live about 5 minutes from DC and I was thinking I could do one trip a day.

DD will stay harnessed to the max in my vehicle but will need to be able to use a HBB in the DC vehicle once she starts school.

1. My understanding was that LATCHing boosters is more of a convenience feature so you don't have to make sure it's buckled in when no one is in it. So, yes, I would think you could LATCH the PKWY SGL over 48lbs

2. As for booster training age, my opinion is that if a child is booster ready then they are booster ready. Training I could see if you can be sitting in the back with the LO and explaining to sit properly, or even from the front as long as you aren't driving. I drove around with DD1 once she turned 4 a few times to see how she did and it didn't go well so we put the booster away and will try it again in a few months to see if there is any improvement in maturity. If not, away it goes.

Your, 6.5 year old I would think could sit in a booster, especially for a 5 min. ride as long as you know he knows how to sit properly and you are confident that he will for the duration of the ride. Oh, and the booster needs to fit him correctly, obviously :)
