Here are some pics for the 2 of you. Scatterbunny- comparisons of the safeguard and husky. Missmommy- Pictures of the husky with recline in the elantra.

For reference, DS just turned 4, weighs approximately 40 pounds (I actually haven't weighed him lately, but that seems about right) and probably 41-42 inches. Not sure of torso height, but he has about an inch or 2 left in the marathon and about 3 inches in the radian, so probably about 15 inches.

Husky measurements (he is right below the second set of slots)-

He has about 5-5.5 inches left

He has about 3.5-4 inches left

(It was a lot harder to get the ruler straight on the husky, so this may be off a little.)

Husky in an 05 elantra, recline bar

Just for MissMommy-
Leg room with the recline bar, outboard, short belt path, tethered, very solid install, very quickly!

Front seat leg room for the prior picture

I can very comfortably sit at this distance with about 5-6 inches between the dash and my legs at 5'5". My brother who is 6'2" can sit there, also without banging his knees.

I think this about covers it. Let me know if you need any other pics!

so the safeguard's top slots are roughly 1.5" lower... so they would be 19-19.5" and the husky/regent would be 20.5-21"?(I get 20.5" when I measure mine)

Yeah- maybe I should have measured them without him in it, huh? Didn't even think of that! I would guess there is about a 1.5 inch difference. I'll try to get measurements tomorrow.

No one was on the other end. He really likes to pretend and "call" the whole family. So, who knows who he was "talking" to last night.

Awww thankies!!! I think I was freaking out b/c there was no leg room for her because his friends and girlfriend tend to make sure the seat slides all the way back which leaves DD with absolutely no leg room and then they blame it on the seat. @@ Maybe i'll just make sure that the front seat slides up a notch or two when i'm reinstalling.

Do you twist the buckle stalk at all? With his seats I was just having a problem b/c i got a rock solid install, but then I didn't realize that the seatbelt was poking her side  I twisted it a whole 3 times and it worked perfectly but I didn't have much time to play around b/c he was in the front seat saying "i'm sure it'll be fine"

I don't think you could put the seat back ALL the way, but it is definitely not making anyone eat the dash.

I did twist the female stalk a full 3 twists and the male end does touch the seat a little bit. Not through the shell so it would touch DS, just a bit in the back. I have heard that is ok and since that occurs in all the vehicles I've tried sbp, I can't imagine not having the buckle touch a little.

Good luck with your install this weekend. Let me know what happens!
