No experience with the Tiguan, but I have a Passat wagon, and we always get rock solid installs in it. Our seats are all Britax for the wagon, but I have never had issues with installs. If the Tiguan has less backseat room then the Passat, center RF may be tight if the driver needs the seat all the way back. I had a Jetta and we ended up putting the RF carseat on the passenger side, since DH could not drive it with a RF seat either center or behind the driver's seat. My DH is 6' tall for reference. In the Passat, we have an older generation Boulevard RF behind the driver's seat, and DH can drive the car just fine. The carseat just barely touches the front seat when he puts it all the way back.
