Britax Boulevard 70 in a 1997 Toyota Camry?

Hi,

I'm about to buy TWO Britax Boulevard 70's for our 6 month old twins. I've read both glowing reviews and also horrible reviews on Amazon. The horrible reviews are mostly about how hard it is to get the babies in and out when it is rear-facing. Should I be worried? Anyone out there with a '97 Camry who likes or hates their Boulevard 70?

Also, does anyone have any experience with these in a Camry? Just wondering if a) there will be enough space when rear-facing for a 6 foot driver (me) to comfortably sit and b) if there will be enough space in between the seats for a slender adult to squeeze into for the unusual times when we need to seat 5 people?

Many thanks.

Welcome! They ought to fit fine from front to back as they can be as upright as 30 degrees from vertical, and may touch the front seats.

The soave in between may be a bit crowded. Also, do you have a shoulder belt in the middle? (Lap-only belts should only be used for car seats, so if you have one there, or need more space, I'd get a narrower car seat, like a Radian maybe, to fit in the middle.)

The new Britax seats are lower profile than the old ones but still not low profile. If you'd prefer lower profile for greater ease of loading, I'd suggest a different seat. Not saying it can't work, just that it's definitely something to consider, especially as they get to 2 and 3 and 4 and want to climb in themselves, lower profiles can make that easier...
