RA55 questions

Would this make a good travel/spare seat for DD1?

We're looking to replace the Avenue that we lost in the flood & I never really gave the RA55 a thought. How does it compare in shell height to the Avenue? It has lock-offs, right? And it RF to 55lbs?!
Is it an easy install on a plane?

At $100, I'm seriously considering it...

Rf to 40 lbs, ff to 55. It's about an inch shorter than the old style Marathons. We use one daily. I like it. It does have lock-offs. It fits in pretty compact spaces front to back. It's fine on a plane.

The only issue I've ever had with it is that when it's completely upright ff the adjuster strap gets pinched. I happened to be on a plane the time I discovered that.

Hmmm - then Wayfair needs to change it's product description since it currently states RF to 55lbs & FF 20-55lbs

I've never used any Britax seats, so I guess I'll have to look on the car seat dimensions data sheet to see how the height compares to the Avenue or XTSL or TFP to get a sense of how long it will last DD1. I can always pass it on to DD2 (which is part of the intent of another convertible) but want to get at least 1-2 years use out of it for DD1. The lock offs are very appealing since the majority of travel we do with car seats is international & I end up needing a locking clip. Tempting...
