Baby is 15" and weighs less then 3 pounds. Baby has a torso height of 7 inches. She is almost 14 months old. I am fairly certain that I would like to keep her rf as long as possible since she is so small.

So.... do you think that she will last a while in this seat?

You got me! Lol, I was thinking......... I can't believe her baby is still that tiny at that age! :0 I figured she must have been really premature. What an awesome idea for the seat. DS would love if they had real straps. I think I may have to do that for my DN for Christmas! Hmmmm, now which seat do I get to take apart for hardware???

So cute! What is the shell from?

It is a "Graco" carrier from Tollytots. It comes with a crotch belt and hip straps like what is in most strollers and bouncers. I "retrofitted" the carrier into a 5 point harness with front adjust, 2 harness straps, a harness splitter and a harness retainer (chest clip). I used a dremel to cut my holes and my selt belt guides. I am currently working of a convertible model with latch :D.

This is what it looked like before.

I love it!

And since the doll is still the same size at 14 months as I assume she was at 1 day old, I think the seat will last her a long time even though she's right at the height limit...

One thing I love about this for older kids is that it gives them practice buckling and unbuckling a real car seat; that could really come in handy when the child is the only kid still in a harness in the pre-k or kindergarten pickup line and the teachers roll their eyes at you and act like you're holding them up.

Yes- In fact I think she has actually become a bit thinner. She is right at the height limit but I feel comfortable using it because even if she ramps up some in a crash, the seat is not touching the front seat at all. ;)
