I'm a major lurker so I know that collectively you guys know pretty much everything.
I phoned Air Canada today but they weren't much help....

I know that ideally DD would have her own seat, but she's going to sit on my lap in my wrap. We've flown that way before and since she's strapped to me, we've never had a problem at all.
DS has his own seat, so we're taking his MR on the plane with us. Snugglebugz says his new Radian won't be here until the middle of December :-(
Will I be allowed to gate check DDs MR, or will I have to do it when we get to the airport? What's the best way to pack a car seat if we have to check it when we get there? AND, what's the best seat to put the car seat in if we've got 3 in a row? DS is RF in his car seat, so can I just flip the little feet underneath and he's ready for FF on the plane?

Also, a little off topic, but we've got a Graco Quattro Tour Duo stroller. The Air Canada guy said that sometimes they let people through with them, and sometimes you have to check them when you get there. Anyone actually ever get through with one?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've never flown with a double stroller, so I'm no help on that one. As for your older ds, you're right that you'll just flip the little feet underneath the MR "out" so that it's in the upright position.

As for your dd's seat, I'd try and gate check it. Toys R Us sells a bag that's marketed under the Jeep name and is meant as a car seat bag. You really don't want to be checking the carseat as luggage because it's some pretty serious banging and tossing around that luggage can go through.

I'd possibly consider buying one of the cheap Scenera's that are on sale at walmart for $60 just for the trip. It's lightweight and smaller than the MR, and if it gets damaged, you'll still have your dd's MR to use when you get home without having to figure out what to do at the airport...

Hope this helps. :)

Air Canada allows 1 gate checked item per child - so the double stroller would be 1 gate checked item for 1 child and your DD's carseat would be her gatechecked item. If for some reason they charge you for your DD's carseat ( which they may since you didnt purchase a ticket for her) its around $40 - I would pay the $40 to gate check it if at all possible over bag checking it

When you arrive at your destination or stop overs , your stroller and carseat will be waiting for you eachtime so I would bring some sort of bungee or strap so you can easily carry the MR if you need to during a stop over

I agree about bringing a Scenera along if possible and you might be able to find one even a little cheaper than $60 depending on sales between now and the next week or two as they begin to clear them out to make room for the complaint seats
