DD keeps gaining weight! Her doc isnt sure why but at this point shes 36lbs fully clothed and about 33 naked. Shes still about 30ins. I only have 35lb rf scenera and since were buying a new car, we dont have the money for a new seat.

Other than putting her in the car when shes naked, I dont know what to do. We dont go in the car often since our current car wont allow her seat to be rfing at the right angle, so we have to ask others for rides when she has to go somewhere. I really cant see myself ffing her yet, shes only 14 months! HELP!

Wow. That's tough. She definitely needs a higher weight RF seat, probably a Radian. But I understand the money issue. Does anybody you know have a convertible you can borrow that RF to 40? Or sell the Scenera on CL and get a 40RF Scenera, Graco ComfortSport, or an Evenflo Tribute? (Trying to think of seats that RF to 40, but are cheap)

I HATE saying it, especially for a 14 month old, but I would rather her FF **for the time being** in a seat she meets the weight for, rather than RF over the limit, until you can get a Radian.

FWIW, I use our Scenera more upright without hesitation.

I just hate even thinking about ffing her, but at this point, for the time being of course, its an option. Ughhh, this is stressing me out :(

For the time being I would keep her in just a diaper and a shirt for car rides if that keeps her under the weight limit for RF. I just couldn't bring myself to FF a 1 yr old if there was any way around it.

How about you get the Scenera 40RF now and save for a Radian?

Since she's only 30 inches and gaining weight, I'd go with the rfing to 40 scenera right now. She may outgrow the 40 pounds too soon and you may need the radian later anyway. I wouldn't spend the extra on some other 40 pound rfing seat if the scenera will fit to 40 pounds. After you get the new scenera, you can sell the old one locally. Around here, if it's all clean and looks nice, someone will pay $20 for the scenera.

40RF Scenera for the time being. She does not meet the height requirement of 34 inches to FF in a Dorel seat. Is there anything that you have around the house that you could see on CL to help fund a seat?

Scenera40RF as soon as possible, and driving in a diaper only until then.

If she hits 35# before you get a new seat, you have no safe and legal solution, since she is too heavy to rear-face and too short to forward-face. If it were me, I would make the heartbreaking choice to forward-face (since I believe the risks of being too short for a seat are probably less than the risks of being too heavy for a seat) and I would do everything I could to drive as little as possible until I get a safe seat.

I think the best idea right now is to buy the 40lb scenera on payday and limit car travel til then. Then start saving for the radian.

Thank you guys so much :D
