bubble bum height limit

I am having seat-fitting issues in my van and so I was thinking about the bubblebum because it's super thin. Yesterday, though I noticed it's upper limit is 80 pounds and 54 inches. That's shorter than 4'9". My 11 year old is 56 inches and my 10 year old is 55 inches. Is this height limit a big deal? Would you use it for a taller kid?

In the instruction manual, I see the height limit as between 40-57 inches.

Where did you see the 54" limit?

The car seat lady quoted it on facebook. I just assumed she knew what she was talking about. So, it really is 57 inches? Of course, that would only give us 1-2 inches unless we went over the limit.

ETA, decided to look at the bubble bum faqs and they say 4'9" or until the ears go above the seat back Is that a real, overall height limit or did they just stick in 4'9" because that's when most kids should pass the 5 step test? If the height limit can be exceeded, my oldest has 10 more pounds to gain before being too heavy.

I don't think it matters in the least. Mine says 52" (it's a European one). And Piper is taller than that and I completely ignore it. She'll outgrow it when her ears go above any head support in the car, or if the shoulder belt starts to pull too low on her shoulder. The stated height, be it 52", 54", or 57", really doesn't matter.

If they're ok with it, and they fit. It's a bit of a pain to use day in and day out. Piper much prefers other boosters. However, it's narrow and lightweight, which is cool.
