No carseats on rear-facing Volvo station wagon bench seat right?

My friend just told me that she's getting a used 2001 Volvo station wagon next week. She only has 2 kids, but she said she's happy because it seats 7 which means she can drive other kids around. I did a quick check on cars.com and it says the seat was "designed to carry children who weigh 50 to 88 pounds and are up to 55 inches tall." Her kids are only 2 and 5 years old and still in harnessed seats, but any child who this seat is "designed" for should most likely still be in a booster (especially since our CA law just changed to 8 yrs or 57"). And if they're in a booster then they couldn't be in this rear-facing seat right? Can adults sit back there or is only for those under 88lbs? Are there lap shoulder belts on those types of seats? What about headrests? My friend is not very good about carseat info and I always have to re-install her seats every time I see her. So if she can't use these seats at all for kids (or adults) then I should probably tell her now.

No carseats allow for installations on rear facing seats. There are shoulder belts, and there are headrests (they use the second row headrests as well). The seat is much smaller than the normal seat, and so only kids about five to nine years old will fit. Given that it's rear facing, I'd feel better about a child of that age without a booster rear facing than I would forward facing, by far. But I wouldn't use it daily.
