Would you be comfortable with this?

DS will be 4 in December. He's about 33 lbs. I don't know for sure because I don't have a scale, but close. Would you be okay with him riding in a booster to and from preschool? We live behind the elementary school, about 200 feet behind it. But to drive there, you go the opposite direction from the school for about 100 feet in our driveway, turn onto the road the school is on, and drive to the school parking lot. So less than 400 feet of driving. A friend of mine has offered to start taking DS to and from school after we get back from vacation. She has a booster DS could use. Otherwise, I'll have to buy a Maestro or something. Or continue to walk him to school, which sounds reasonable, but when it's raining and blowing 60 here, it's not fun to do that.

I agree with the previous posters, I wouldn't do it.

In addition to what they said, would you be confident that your friend would always remove his coat in the winter, or would she default to "it's such a short ride it doesn't matter"?

If you were to put a harnessed seat in there, would you trust her to always buckle correctly?

We get back from vacation the last part of December. I figured this would be the general consensus. I could put the CA in her Jeep for him, if I could get it fit. Probably, we'll just continue to walk. Now to go buy a wind busting umbrella....

Someone I know has a 32 lb. child in a backless booster. She's almost 5 now and the booster is not one that works with her weight. Nor do they use the shoulder belt for her (or maybe the girl puts it behind her). So, this girl certainly cannot sit safely in a booster. I tried.

I would go with the harness.

What about a RSTV? I can't remember what weight they start at but if you taught him how to put it on, I bet she could learn to buckle it for him.
