I really need to ff ds3 in his MA70 in my van but am trying to hold off until the spring because I want him rf in the winter. I keep telling myself that I am waiting for the new Kiddy seat to ff him but it may not work 3 across in my van so then I am waiting for the trade in event at BRU in the spring to get a new Evenflo combination seat for him. Dh says I am just making excuses since his MA70 will fit ff and he has plenty of growing room. I just can't bring myself to ff in there (our primary vehicle) yet. I just had to recline him to 40* instead of 30* to give him a little more leg room and make him stop crying about leg cramps. I really should turn him :(.

I wish I could rear face my oldest for the winter but she is just too tall for the CA we have. I may try her in it but last time she was in it she was pushing the 1 in on the shell and if I move the headrest up the harness is above her shoulders.

The poor driving conditions.:)

I'm making it a point rfds2 through this winter. Though, chances are he'll rear face a quite a bit longer afterward, if not through the next winter too.

I'm kinda in the same boat... I want to FF DD2 but at almost 3yr and 27lbs I want to wait till spring or summer. It sometimes snows alot here and the roads can get icy and slick so erf she will stay.

Why not use the TFP to RF in your van? (unless you're siggy isn't current)

I'm keeping Sam RF through the winter and I'll probably turn him in the spring when he's 3 1/2. He'll probably still have some height room in the Radian then, but with his ginormous long legs, I'm ready to forward face him. I've always said 3 was my goal so I'm glad we made it there, but I'll feel better about driving in Colorado winters and snow with him RF until April or so.

I need to fit 3 seats in the 2nd row and it doesn't fit well. I can get it in there and all the seats rock the car solid but within a couple of days the CarGo for the 3 yr old I watch is either loose or pushing off the side of the seat. It is a big PITA to reinstall it that often. Plus with the TFP rf I have to move the front pass seat up to a point I am not comfortable with and ds1 has to ride up front once in awhile when I have all the kids at once. I can't use a locking clip for the CarGo either. There is no room to buckle the seat in unless I give the seat belt a lot of slack and buckle it before pulling it tight. I can't get my hand in to buckle it with a locking clip. He only has a little more room in the TFP anyways and complained the whole hour we were in our truck (where the TFP is) last weekend that his legs hurt. He doesn't complain ff :(. I am hoping he is just having growing pains and it will pass because I really want to make it through the winter.

I hate RFing in the winter. Last year was no biggie, she didn't walk in the snow. This year she will be wanting to walk in the snow and ice and then it's all over the car's seat and the carseat and UGH. I know, I just need to slip her boots off when I put her in but sometimes there just isn't time!

She'll stay RFing for 2 more winters. And I will probably need to put a different seat in DH's truck because she is very close to outgrowing the RA40, which is about to expire. That's the vehicle we drive in the worst conditions.

I will if I can when it snows. If I have ti go get fb'd school kids, ds has to ff. Only one rfing person on back row since the cco is all that fits and I want dd2 in a bucket. When it snows school should be canceled, meaning ds can rf. Out doesn't matter in dh's car, so he will most definitely rf. He has traction control, but I've got 4wd. ;) (unless I get a minivan, but if that happens he can rf.) People around here cannot drive!

¡May contain dyac moments!

Cordelia is back rfing, but only because I'm to lazy to switch everything in her seat for forward facing....lol She was in a friend's truck last week and RFing cause her DD is rfing and didn't want to expose her to FFing yet. So yeah.... I planned on RFing her when my new Radian got her... but this works as well.

Ds3 will be 4 in feb. We have horrid winters (ohio). Hell stay erf till he cant fit. He's tiny, so we have awhile yet. Hes ff in my moms and his dads. He always tells then his seat is backwards in those vehicles :)

Poor driving conditions? I dislike summer way more for driving. That's just me. :) Traffic, more likely to go on an awful highway to see relatives, people/pedestrian out, etc.

Winter I'm more inclined to not go as many places. And it's slower driving. But it's really easy to RF in summer. In winter I make them take their shoes off and it's trickier.

Statistically, your kids are slightly safer in the winter than in the summer. More miles driven and more people on the road in the summer increases the chances of a crash, more than the bad weather does.

My kids will be RFing throughout the winter, and throughout next summer, too.

Well, I won't be flipping him back to RF...but he'll continue to RF, even after his 2nd birthday in January. My big kids are too, well, big to RF...although my 7-year really wants to. She's an oddball, though. ;)

I live in GA. Season doesn't make a difference to me, the drivers are typically sucky here year-round.:p

My kids will continue to rf regardless of season. We rf to the max of the seats and then ff. I wouldn't consider ff before that. BUT, I don't have any extenuating circumstances like car sickness or extreme heat or medical issue etc. to cause me to need to ff sooner.

RF'ing DS at least through winter. Thankfully we're in the country and our small country school closes or has late starts frequently when it's bad.

But in Wyoming and now South Dakota it was definitely a conscious decision when they were getting close to RF through as much of winter as possible!
