Smokey pearl RA55

Broke down and got it. I'll return the RA50 I got cheap at Target if it works out.

So took it out of the box and OMG it's even more beautiful in person !! The cover is sooo soft.

BUT...... she fits funny in it . On the bottom slots the harness only touches her at the shoulders, the front of the harness and the chest clip are way out in front of her, like I can fit my whole hand in there no problem. So I moved the straps up and it fit better but not great and she wasn't quite at the second slot yet.

And the harness adjuster is really hard to pull. It's loosening up but at first I had to put my feet against the seat and pull as hard as I could (sitting on the floor in the house playing with it). After a few times of loosening and tightening it was better but it's still really hard to pull. And no it's not caught on anything, I checked. ;)

I really want to love it but I feel kinda funny about it. The way the harness fits just throws me off. I know Britax can be like that but it's so far away from her body.

I always adjust ours by pulling the straps tight from behind it then pulling the tightener. It works easily that way. I do hVe to make a point of really sitting dd up straight to get the straps tight against her. If she is scrunched over at all it does like you are saying.

Yeah, I pull at the back to tighten too but it still just wouldn't barely move. And this was in the house unistalled. It's like the thing that holds the adjuster strap was too tight.

I don't think that's normal for that seat. The one I reviewed for the blog was smooth and easy to adjust - even installed and with a kid in it. Can you take a video and then call Britax CS?

We don't have a video camera. Thinking about calling Britax anyway though.
